When they intend to publish the study commissioned by the Departments of Trade and Industry and the Environment on the subject of deposit/refund systems.
§ The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Trade and Industry (Lord Reay)The study, carried out by the consultants, Environmental Resources Limited, has been published today, in a report entitledDeposit/Refund Systems for Beverage Containers and Batteries. Copies have been placed in the Library. The report is available on sale from HMSO bookshops.
Her Majesty's Government indicated in last year's Environment White Paper that this work would be undertaken. The report's findings are now being considered, and will be taken into account during the further formulation of the Government's waste minimisation and recycling policy. We would welcome any comments that interested parties might have on the report.
