HL Deb 10 December 1991 vol 533 cc27-8WA
Lord Colnbrook

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will extend the coverage of their campaign against drink-driving by making use of the many local radio stations throughout the county.

The Minister of State, Department of Transport (Lord Brabazon of Tara)

The Department of Transport considers all forms of media, including radio, when planning its campaigns.

Paid advertising on this Christmas' anti-drink/drive campaign is concentrated on television and roadside posters. But we welcome the extensive editorial support that local radio stations continue to give to this and other road safety campaigns and are considering whether to use commercial radio advertising in future campaigns.
