To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if it is Northern Ireland Office practice to settle out-of-court those claims for compensation made by terrorists or their families; and if he will make a statement.

The Northern Ireland Office considers all claims for compensation on their merits, bearing in mind the facts of the case, any relevant statutory provisions and, if appropriate, legal advice.
