§ Mr. Nicholas BennettTargets for the development of all aspects of care for people with mental handicaps are set out in annual county plans produced jointly by social services, health and education authorities, housing bodies and representatives of voluntary organisations, users and carers.
These plans indicate that by 31 March 1992 there should be 1,333 people receiving short-term care in the new patterns of service, compared with 34 in the year before the all-Wales mental handicap strategy was launched, as well as 377 in more traditional patterns of service. Targets for future years will be set by county teams in due course.
