How much was the cost of the 1990 pilot national curriculum key stage 1 assessment for seven-year-olds, and how many pupils participated.

The cost of developing the prototype tests for seven-year-olds and for mounting the 1990 pilot assessment exercise in England and Wales was £4,321,000. A total of around 18,000 pupils were involved.
