HL Deb 25 April 1991 vol 528 c11WA
Lord Hylton

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will prosecute under Article 146 of the Fourth Geneva Convention all Israelis within their jurisdiction suspected of having deported Palestinians from the Occupied Territories and Gaza, and ask all signatories of the convention to do likewise.

The Earl of Caithness

We have consistently opposed deportations from the Occupied Territories as being inconsistent with Israel's obligations under the Fourth Geneva Convention. But we do not believe that the action proposed would influence Israeli policies in the Occupied Territories—including the deportation policy—or that it would advance the search for peace.
