Dr. Moonie

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security whether he will list the current members of the Occupational Pensions Board and give the relevant experience of each member; how many of the board are females; and what percentage of the total membership they comprise.

Miss Widdecombe

In addition to the chairman and deputy chairman there are currently 12 members of the Occupational Pensions Board. Four members of the board are female—representing almost 29 per cent. of the total membership. As from 6 April 1991 membership of the board is as follows:

Chairman: SIR JEREMY ROWE, CBE.

Deputy Chairman: MR. JOHN MARTIN, Consulting Actuary.

Members:

Mr. R. AMY

Compensation and Benefits Director; Former Chairman of the National Association of Pension Funds (NAPF) International Committee; Former Treasurer of the NAPE; Former Chairman of the NAPF Parliamentary Committee.

Mrs. R. BROWN

Managing Director; Author and broadcaster on pensions matters; Former member of the Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC).

Miss C. H. DAWES

Pensions lawyer; Member of the Association of Pensions Lawyers (APL); Member of the Occupational Pensions Advisory Service (OPAS) Trust.

Mr. R. ELLISON

Pensions lawyer; Member of the APL; Chairman of the Law Society Pensions sub-committee; Council member of the NAPF; Member of the OPAS Trust.

Mr. R. J. HEBBLETHWAITE

Financial and marketing adviser.

Mr. A. U. LYBURN

Vice-President of the Faculty of Actuaries; General Manager (Personnel) of a large Insurance Company. MR. R. NEALE
