To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry which Government Minister attended the European Community Industry Council meeting on 21 September.

[holding answer 22 October 1990]: The Industry Council meeting on 21 September was postponed until 15 October, and I attended that meeting.

To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will make a statement on the European Community Industry Council meeting held on 21 September.

[holding answer 22 October 1990]: The Council meeting on 15 October discussed industrial policy, state aids, steel and textiles, and considered Commission communications to the Council on industrial co-operation with eastern Europe and on the Community aerospace industry.
