§ Mr. John PattenAll of the organisations which we consulted naturally wished to see the total cost of courses to continue to be met from central funds. We have gone some way towards meeting their concerns by introducing730W direct charging in England and Wales over a period of three years. The additional costs which fall to local authorities will be taken into account when decisions are taken about the level of revenue support grant.
