What has been the cost of promoting and implementing the scheme to recruit licensed teachers; and how many such teachers have been appointed.

Under the Local Education Authority Training Grants Scheme, the department has provided funds in support of local education authority expenditure of £2-lm, for the financial year 1990-91, to assist local education authorities with the cost of training licensed teachers.

Local education authorities and governing bodies have so far appointed 48 licensed teachers.
