On Friday 23 March, 275 inmates were allocated and awaiting transfer to Thorp Arch prison.

On 19 March, 27 of the 134 inmates held at Throp Arch had been received since 19 December 1989. The numbers of inmates who may have been transferred to Thorp Arch in that period, and subsequently moved elsewhere, cannot be readily identified.
