§ Mr. RyderThere were 1,065 civil servants employed in the Treasury at 1 January 1975 and 1,052 at 1 January 1979. In November 1981 a number of additional functions were transferred to the Treasury from the Civil Service Department, increasing Treasury numbers to 4,177 at 1 January 1982. The number employed at I February 1990 was 3,155.
