HC Deb 12 March 1990 vol 169 c91W
Mr. Franks

To ask the Attorney-General what plans he has to improve facilities at the Crown court in Barrow-in-Furness.

The Attorney-General

The Crown court at Barrow-in-Furness sits only some 33 days per year and uses the magistrates court's premises. The magistrates court building is the responsibility of the magistrates courts committee and any improvement to the facilities is primarily a matter for it. There is a proposal to replace this building in the next few years, and therefore, there are no plans to make improvements to the facilities.
