To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry whether he intends to make any change in the Post Office's external financing limit for 1990–91.

Mr. Lilley

The Post Office's external financing limit for 1990–91 currently stands at £38 million, as set out in the public expenditure White Paper. I am now setting a revised limit of zero to reflect the final outcome of the Girobank sale.
