To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment when he last met the director of Her Majesty's inspectorate of pollution to discuss progress in pollution control.

I meet the director of Her Majesty's inspectorate of pollution regularly and discuss progress on all aspects of HMIP's business including the discharge of the inspectorate's regulatory functions.
