§ Mr. ChopeEstimates, based on tenders accepted by local authorities, indicate that in England the current average cost of building a two-storey three-bedroomed house with external dimensions of 21 ft by 22 ft, excluding the value of land but including external works and professional fees, is approximately £43,000. The cost of a terrace of five such houses is approximately £215,000.
