To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what proposals he has for increasing aid to Namibia.

My right hon. Friend the Prime Minister told the House last year that we would provide aid to an independent Namibia. We are planning several exploratory missions to Namibia to identify areas in which we may be able to assist. A team arrived at Namibia yesterday to assess the need for police training.
