§ Mr. MaudeWe have expressed our concern at the recent escalation in the fighting in Angola both to the Angolan Government and representatives of UNITA and have called on them to agree to an early ceasefire and negotiations for a political settlement. And on 19 February we joined with our European partners in issuing a statement calling for an end to the fighting and a ceasefire. A copy of the statement has been placed in the Library of the House.
