§ Mr. CurryFollowing the recommendations of the Committee on Medical Aspects of Food Policy report on dietary sugars and human disease and the advice contained in the recent Government publication "Eight Guidelines for a Healthy Diet", both of which are available in the Library of the House, the food industry is responding to consumers' demand by providing a wide and increasing range of less sugary foods. We are continuing to encourage the declaration of total sugars as part of nutrition declarations which now commonly appear on food labels so that consumers can make informed choices.
