§ Mr. GalbraithTo ask the Secretary of State for Scotland who will be the validating body for certification of nurses following the introduction of Project 2000; and who will be legally responsible for student work on the wards on their branch regime following its introduction.
§ Mr. Michael ForsythThe National Board for Nursing, Midwifery and Health Visiting for Scotland is currently in negotiation with a number of appropriate agencies about the validation of Project 2000 courses. Project 2000 students will not be health board employees but will be subject to the regulations of their college. They will work in wards under the direction and supervision of registered nurses.
