§ Mr. AshleyTo ask the Secretary of State for Employment, pursuant to his answers to the hon. Member for Exeter (Mr. Hannam) of 18 January,Official Report, column 401, and Stoke-on-Trent, South of 14 March, Official Report, column 252, if he will give the most recent figures for the percentage of (a) firms and (b) public sector employers satisfying their quota obligations under the Disabled Persons (Employment) Act 1944;
§ Mr. Eggar[holding answer 5 April 1990]: In June 1989, the latest date for which figures are available, 23.3 per cent. of private sector employers subject to the obligations of the quota scheme employed 3 per cent. or more registered people with disabilities. At the same date 4.7 per cent. of the public sector employers who are subject to the obligations of the quota scheme employed 3 per cent. or more registered people with disabilities.
In both the public and private sectors 0.9 per cent. of employees of employers subject to the obligations of the quota scheme are registered as disabled.
