Mr. Austin Mitchell

To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what is the increase in the value and volume of United Kingdom exports of computers since 1985; what percentage of exports in 1985 were (i) imported in substantially the same form and (ii) assembled in the United Kingdom; and what is his estimate of the United Kingdom content of United Kingdom exports of computers in 1985, 1988 and in 1989 to date.
