§ Mr. Ron DaviesTo ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, pursuant to his answer to the hon. Member for Caerphilly of 18 May,Official Report, columns 294–95, what requirements on heat treatment of meat and bone meal exported from the United Kingdom are sought by (a) France, and (b) West Germany.
§ Mr. Donald ThompsonFrance has requested that the temperature and duration of the heat treatment which has been applied to the consignment should be recorded on the export health certificate. West Germany specifies that consignments must be heated to a minimum temperature of 80 deg C for at least 30 minutes.
§ Mr. Ron DaviesTo ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (1) what was the total quantity of meat and bone meal exported from the United Kingdom to the United States of America for each of the last three years for which figures are available;
(2) what was the total quantity of meat and bone meal exported from the United Kingdom to Holland for each of the last three years for which figures are available.
§ Mr. Donald ThompsonUnited Kingdom exports of meat meal and bone meal to the Netherlands in the last three years are given in the following table. There were no exports of meat and bone meal to the United States of America during 1986 and 1987 and only 4 tonnes were recorded in 1988.

1 From 1988, bone meal is combined in the statistics with other bones and their derivatives apart from "ossein and bones treated with acid". Therefore the tonnage of bone meal exported to Nertherlands in 1988 could be slightly lower than 670 tonnes.
