§ Mr. FreemanThe cash expenditure by health authorities in England on capital programmes rose from £331.71 million in 1975–76 to £367.35 million in 1978–79, an increase of 10.7 per cent. over the period. The corresponding figures for 1984–85 to 1987–88 show a rise of 25.9 per cent. from £795.40 million (1984–85) to £1,001.44 million (1987–88).
