§ Mr. Michael BrownTo ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster when he now expects British Gas to publish its schedule of prices to large industrial consumers following the report of the Monopolies and Mergers Commission; and if he will make a statement on the reasons for the delay in implementing the recommendation in the report.
§ Mr. Atkins[holding answer 13 March 1989]: I hope that British Gas will be able to publish in the very near future its schedule of prices for large consumers, together with details of how it will be implemented. Many of the large customers of British Gas have asked for a delay in the implementation of the new schedule beyond 1 April to enable them to consider the implications for themselves.
