HL Deb 28 June 1989 vol 509 c834WA
Lord Mason of Barnsley

asked the Chairman of Committees:

Whether he will invite the Select Committee on Procedure to reconsider the possibility of introducing a register of Members' interests, as such a register has been established in the House of Commons since the matter was last considered.

The Chairman of Committees (Lord Aberdare)

The question of the possible introduction of a register of Members' interests is a matter which can properly be re-considered by the Procedure Committee; and I would be prepared to arrange for the matter to appear as an item on the agenda of a future meeting. I suggest that the noble Lord puts forward a memorandum which can be circulated to the committee.
