To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster when he last discussed the future of the Sunderland Shipyards with the chairman of British Shipbuilders; and if he will make a statement.

I met the chairman of British Shipbuilders on 5 June. A number of matters of current interest were discussed, including the disposal of the assets of North East Shipbuilders Ltd.
