§ The Minister of State, Department of Health (Lord Trafford)Future policy on sight testing is, of course, a matter for the Department of Health. I presume that the noble Lord is therefore referring to the proposals by the General Optical Council that the profession should itself review optical services. I understand that a start has already been made by establishing an Optical Services Audit Commission comprising:—
plus three ophthalmic advisers to be appointed by the ophthalmic profession.
