§ Mr. FreemanI assume that the inquiry relates to the paragraph 16 on page 26 of the report which refers to the inspections of hospitals under the Medicines (Administration of Radioactive Substances) Regulations.
Following these inspections, Her Majesty's inspector of pollution reports to the Department on various requirements for certification under these regulations. These reports may include general comments about the facilities available to clinicians administering radioactive substances. If the Department feels that there is cause for concern, the matter is pursued with the health authority. Should the Department consider, following investigation, that the facilities no longer reach an acceptable standard, 475W certificate(s) of the clinician(s) using those facilities would be suspended or revoked. No certificates have been so suspended or revoked during the last five years.
