§ Mr. RyderI assume that the hon. Gentleman is referring to research into the cultivation of genetically engineered plants to use up atmospheric carbon dioxide, in which case the answer is yes. My Department is supporting research in this area in the context of work on genetic improvement of trees for farm forestry.
