To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what has been the strength of the Royal Ulster Constabulary traffic division in each year since 1980 to the latest available date; and whether there are any plans to increase it.

[holding answer 23 March 1989]: The information requested is not readily available prior to 1985 and could be obtained only at disproprtinate cost. The available information is as follows:
