To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if there was any departmental representation at the one-day seminar on the implementation of nuclear safeguards hosted by the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna on 18 September; and what information he has received regarding the outcome of the seminar.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) held a meeting with journalists in Vienna on Sunday 18 September 1988 to explain the role and functions of the IAEA safeguards systems. There was no departmental representation at the meeting, but officials from the United Kingdom mission to the UN agencies in Vienna reported that it had taken place.
