To ask the Secretary of State for Health, by regional health authority area, what proportion of district health authority members have been nominated by the Trades Union Congress or an affiliated organisation for each year from 1980 to 1987.

We do not hold this information centrally. Members of district health authorities are appointed by the relevant regional health authority and local authorities. The hon. Member may therefore wish to seek the information from regional health authority chairmen.
