To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will list for each of the last five years, the number of heavy goods vehicles in the United Kingdom and in the European Community; and if he will make a statement.

Table 6.7 provides data on number of road vehicles by type.
Data for earlier years were published in previous editions of "Transport Statistics Great Britain."
