To ask the Secretary of State for Employment what assessment he has made of the effect on the labour market of the current level of weekly earnings at which workers are exempt from national insurance liability.

My right hon. Friend has made no specific assessment of the effects on the labour market of the lower earnings limit for national insurance contributions.
