To ask the Secretary of State for Employment if he will make a statement on the development of the small firms database.

Mr. Cope

The small firms service's database of national information was made available for purchase from 5 July this year, and over 100 copies have now been sold. The database contains information and contacts useful to businesses under a wide range of subject headings. The majority of orders have been placed by other small business advisory organisations.
