To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment whether any authority which had closed its accounts and had them audited by 7 July produced figures different from those held by his Department as at midnight on 6 July

One authority's accounts for 1985–86 which were closed and audited by 7 July showed total expenditure £4,299 lower than the figures held by my Department by 7 July. Two other authorities' accounts for 1986–87 were closed and audited by 7 July, but the results have not yet been sent to my Department.
