To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs how many new consultancy contracts his Department agreed in the most recent year for which figures are available; and what was their value.

In the year ending 31 March 1988, the Overseas Development Administration agreed 173 new consultancy contracts worth £30,870,000.
