§ Mr. Chris PattenIn the current financial year we aim to spend about £850,000 on bilateral assistance to the occupied territories. This will cover grants to British non-governmental organisations for health and community work including the special contribution that I agreed to make earlier this year to the St. John's ophthalmic hospital in Jerusalem. It will also finance training for Palestinian students in Britain and the supply of books to certain Palestinian institutions.
