To ask the Secretary of State for Wales how many temporary road traffic lights there are on trunk roads in Wales at present; and what are the two longest times of operation and their locations.

There are 25 temporary road traffic lights associated with roadworks on trunk roads in Wales at present. The two longest times of operation and their locations are:

  1. (a) A494 Drws-y-Nant, Gwynedd, in operation from January 1979 and expected to remain until June 1991, and,
  2. (b) Aberaeron-Aberarth, Dyfed, in operation from January 1984 and expected to remain until September 1989.

Information regarding temporary traffic lights for statutory undertakers' works is not held centrally.
