§ Mr. Tony BanksTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what contribution towards the costs of the United Nations observation force supervising peace between Iran and Iraq has(a) been sought and (b) been paid.
§ Mr. EggarAccording to the latest bulletin from the United Nations the total requests for contributions towards the costs of the United Nations Iran-Iraq Military Observer Group amount to $35.2 million. Of this total $16.2 million have so far been paid. The assessed contribution of the United Kingdom for the first three months of the operation of the force (9 August to 8 November 1988) is $2,085,184. This has been paid.
