§ Mr. Peter BottomleyConstruction of the Bedford bypass is scheduled to start in 1990. This is subject to completion of statutory procedures. Measures to alleviate traffic congestion in the town have been carried out in recent years. There is little scope for further improvement prior to the completion of the bypass.
