To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what are the entitlements for a full and unprejudiced settlement arising out of the employment contracts of Sir Keith Bright and Dr. Ridley after their resignation from London Regional Transport; and if he will make a statement.

I have arranged for copies of the terms of appointment of Sir Keith Bright (which apply by virtue of section 70(1) of the London Regional Transport Act 1984) and of Dr. Ridley to be placed in the Library of the House. Pending any claims by either of those concerned it would not be appropriate for me to make any statement relating to the question of liability.
