§ Mr. John PattenMy right hon. Friend received a report from the Avon and Somerset police last month regarding inquiries arising from material submitted to him last year. This is now being considered, together with other matters raised about these convictions, and he expects to reach a conclusion shortly. We are not expecting any report from the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis.
