To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make a statement concerning the future use of the former headquarters of the Greater London council at county hall, SE1.

Mr. Chope

The future use of county hall is a matter for the London residuary body and any future owner taking into account planning and listed building considerations. My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State will be considering the recent High Court judgment on his planning decisions of 20 October 1987, when the transcript becomes available.
