To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will give the average council house rent in Scotland; and if he will make a statement.

Scottish local authorities budgeted for an average council house rent of £14.65 per house per week in 1987–88. They have now set rent levels for 1988–89 and the average is 16.27 per house per week.
