§ Mr. Michael ForsythIn the year ending 31 March 1979 there were 737,816 in-patient discharges from NHS 141W hospitals in Scotland and 5,206,078 out-patient attendances. The corresponding figures for the year ending 31 March 1987 were 842,524 and 5,670,434. In addition, day cases treated increased over the same period from 80,271 to 158,841.
