To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will publish in theOfficial Report (a) the number of projects approved under the urban development grant programme. (b) the amount of funds provided, (c) the number of jobs created, (d) the number of homes built and (e) the number of acres of derelict land reused since the programme began in 1982.56W

Land has been vested in two of the six English urban development corporations. For information on the London Docklands development corporation I refer the hon. Member to the answer I gave to the hon. Member for Newham, North-East (Mr. Banks) on 8 March at column118.
The average value of land vested in Merseyside development corporation was £9,200 per acre. Land prices in the urban development area currently range from £35,000 per acre to approximately £250,000 per acre, depending on size, location planning use and MDC expenditure on site preparation and infrastructure.
