To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how many cases were heard by the Scottish Solicitors Discipline Tribunal in 1987; what were the results of the cases heard; and what were the comparable figures in 1986.

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland, pursuant to his answer of 10 March,Official Report, column 384, how much money from public funds has been paid to Grant Thornton; and in respect of what services.

Mr. Michael Forsyth

Grant Thornton were engaged by health board general managers acting jointly to provide assistance to boards in the preparation of tender documents and in the financial and technical vetting of major firms of contractors. The fee for these services is a matter covered by commercial confidentiality.
