§ Mr. KaufmanTo ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he has sent to the Secretary of State for Social Services correspondence with regard to Meridian referred to in his letter of 5 October 1987 to the right hon. Member for Manchester, Gorton, stating that he was sending this correspondence to that Secretary of State.
§ Mr. HurdA check with records held in the Department indicates that, as the right hon. Member was notified on 5 October 1987, the correspondence was forwarded to my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Social Services. As the right hon. Member will know from my right hon. Friend's reply of 14 March at column470, his Department has been unable to trace the correspondence despite extensive inquiries and he has therefore undertaken to look into the matter immediately on receipt of a copy of the correspondence.
